Out of altogether 55 states ranked by the International Institute for Management Development in Lausanne, Switzerland, this chart shows the competitiveness of 34 European and Middle Eastern countries compared to the USA. The ranking is based on 323 criteria. The World Competitiveness Yearbook was first published in 1989 and appears annually.
