McDonald's: A Record Year


 
Systemwide sales were up in 2006 to $57.5 bn, an increase of 7%. Of this, company operated sales accounted for $16.1 bn (+9%). The number of outlets worldwide grew by 270 to more than 31,500 (+1%). Full year 2006 highlights include:
  • Global comparable sales rose 5.7%.
  • Revenues and operating income reached record highs of $21.6 bn and $4.4 bn, respectively.
  • The Company returned nearly $5 bn to shareholders through shares acquired and dividends paid.
