Research Bite: Visit development

 
  In the big 5 European countries (Great Britain, France, Germany, Spain, Italy), the Foodservice industry was pretty much hit by the consumer's retention. 2,4% less guests came into the Full and Quick Service Restaurants and canteens, used vending machines or the on-board catering. However, there are differences in the intensity of the decline. In all countries, the industry suffered most in Q1 09 vs. Q1 08. Towards the end of the year, Italy showed again a positive visit development whereas this was the second negative quarter for Great Britain with -4% traffic.
