Ducasse Climbs the Eiffel Tower

Culinary trading-up for one of the world’s most famous landmarks, the sightseeing destination of around 7 m visitors every year: the Alain Ducasse Group has taken over on the second platform of the Eiffel Tower. Now, in the Jules Verne gourmet restaurant – where the atmosphere was distinguished only by the wonderful view – sophisticated, minimalist design has been united with a culinary standard of the highest. The pleasant sounding name of the new operator will surely make the restaurant a high-class ‘in’ address for both tourists and Parisians.

Crème-white and chocolate brown set a restrained tone while accents are set by a colourful, curving wall of glass in front of the service area (105 people work here altogether!). The 120-seat restaurant, which is served by a private lift, opened again at the end of last year after a break of several months. A table d’hôte meal at lunchtime costs € 75 while guests must reckon with € 190 for the 7-course dinner. The culinary style at an altitude of 125 m: authentic and elegant, i.e., traditional French cuisine with modern accents. Naturally, all of the 430 vintages on the wine list come from La Grande Nation.
