Etenstijd: 4,800 Guests a Week

The successful all-you-can-eat concept of Restaurant Etenstijd (Meal Time) in Tilburg attracts around 4,800 guests a week. They serve themselves at a buffet at which chefs freshly prepare hot specialities. The wide-ranging menu embraces a good four hundred products and dishes - from rissoles to crocodile filet, from pizza to sweetbreads and from escalope to grilled prawns - all prepared with fresh ingredients. Opened two years ago, the Etenstijd is one of the biggest restaurants in The Netherlands with seating for 600 indoors and 450 outdoors. The basic concept is for unlimited dining for two (€23.50) or three hours (€30) at a fixed rate (surcharge at the weekend when an additional €20 or €27 for two or three hours respectively). Non-alcoholic beverages are included in the price of all arrangements. Alcoholic beverages cost €3 for three and €5 for five drinks. Etenstijd is located in a big new building and sub-divided into a variety of themed rooms, e.g., billiards room, library and boathouse, decorated in the style of the thirties and forties. In the basement, there is the ‘Kindertijd' (children's time), a wonderful play paradise for the little ones.
