Four for Atlantis

Atlantis welcomes Giorgio Locatelli, Nobu Matsuhisa, Michel Rostang and Santi Santamaria this month. With altogether four celebrity-restaurants – plus a dozen more dining options – the ocean-themed 1,539-room resort atop the crescent of The Palm Jumeirah emerges as a culinary toplocation in Dubai. Altogether, Atlantis, The Palm serves up 17 different restaurants, bars and lounges promising cuisines to suit every taste and personality. From sophisticated seafood and cutting edge sushi to family-style authentic Italian, a sumptuous steakhouse and foods from around the world, the dining experiences are as varied, exciting and multi-faceted as the resort itself. The ocean-themed destin ation resort is located at the centre of the crescent of the man-made Palm Jumeirah in Dubai. Kerzner International developed the US$1.5 bn project in a joint venture with Dubai Government owned Istithmar. The resort covers a site of 46 ha with 17 ha of water park amusements, and further marine and entertainment attractions. Atlantis is home to one of the largest openair marine habitats in the world, with some 65,000 marine animals in lagoons and displays including ‘The Lost Chambers’, a maze of underwater corridors and passageways providing a journey through ancient Atlantis. The hotel also boasts a Spa and Fitness Club, and 5,600 sq m of meeting and function space at its Convention Centre. Each of the 1,539 guestrooms and suites in the Royal Towers features private balconies and views over the Arabian Gulf or The Palm Jumeirah. With rates starting at $454 per night, guests may choose from a variety of accommodation including the indulgent Imperial Club – a ‘resort within a resort’ with over 150 rooms and suites, exclusive services and private club lounge. Bridge Suite spans the Royal Towers above the signature arch of Atlantis. A private lift takes guests 22 storeys above the resort for heart-stopping views of The Palm Jumeirah, Dubai and The Arabian Gulf. Each three stories high with mesmerising views directly into the underwater world of the Ambassador Lagoon from the master bedrooms, the two Lost Chambers Suites create an illusion of being beneath the sea whilst looking directly into the heart of Atlantis.
